Diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia (cancer of the bone marrow and blood) in January 1998, Arturo received chemotherapy and radiation treatment before ultimately receiving a bone marrow transplant in February. His cancer is currently in remission. He loves playing basketball and soccer and can often be found cheering for his favorite professional soccer team, the Cruz Azul in Mexico.

Diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia (cancer of the bone marrow and blood) in June 2004, Nathan is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment. A huge sports fan—especially when it comes to baseball, football and college basketball—Nathan hopes to pitch his own no-hitter one day. He also enjoys riding his bike, watching his favorite movie, The Incredibles and scarfing down a Whopper Jr. every now and then.

Diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia (cancer of the bone marrow and blood) in September 2002, Nancy recently finished her last round of chemotherapy and is currently in remission. Nancy enjoys playing with her Barbie dolls, reading books and spending quality time with her ‘Pappi’ (dad).

Diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (cancer of the lymph system) in October 2004, Jaimie had also been diagnosed at the age of 6, 13 and 16. But after having undergone chemotherapy and two stem cell transplants, she is currently in remission. She enjoys pottery, playing tennis and hanging out with friends, and is interested in studying medicine at college next year.

Diagnosed with aplastic anemia (bone marrow failure) in 2003, Eric received a bone marrow transplant in March of 2004 — and has been in remission since. He loves camping, fishing, football and wrestling. And while he’s eager to be a high school senior this fall, Eric’s even more excited to study either agriculture or veterinary medicine in college.
