Age 17 months | Underwood, IA

Curious little Elizabeth was recently diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma – a type of soft tissue cancer. She is currently being treated with chemotherapy and hopes to be done soon. She loves books, the outdoors and her English bulldog, Missy. Elizabeth also enjoys playing hide and seek with Mom and Dad.

Age 19 months | Lincoln, NE

Since being diagnosed over a year ago, little Signe has bravely fought medulloblastoma – a type of brain tumor. After undergoing surgery, months of treatment and a stem cell transplant, Signe has been done with treatment for eight months. Now she is back to what she loves most … books and riding in her little red wagon.

Age 3 | Columbus, NE

Jonathon was certainly an athlete. Despite intense treatments for leukemia – including chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant – Jonathon loved to play soccer and run around outside. His favorite teammates were his dog and soccer coach dad.

Age 13 | Sioux City, IA

Just earlier this year in March of 2007, Daniel was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He’s currently undergoing chemotherapy, but that hasn’t slowed him down a bit. Daniel remains highly involved in competitive swimming, which is his first hobby, while computers are a distant, distant second.

Age 18 | Omaha, NE

Diagnosed in January 2005 with a germ cell tumor of her ovary, Desiree was a strong young woman who bravely fought her cancer for almost 2 years. Even though her treatment included many cycles of chemotherapy and two stem cell transplants, Desi made sure to keep an active lifestyle. She continued to keep up with her school work so that she would graduate from Northwest High School. Desi also worked as much as she could and never complained. She was a wonderful role model for others. Desi is missed dearly by her mom, granddparents, and friends.

Age 17 | Omaha, NE

After five rounds of chemotherapy, Alex completed his treatments for leukemia this past February. In the meantime, he shook hands with two of his favorite baseball players, Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada of the New York Yankees. When Alex isn’t hanging with friends, he’s setting his sights on top grades in college at University of Nebraska-Omaha in the fall.
